Broadland Digital Imaging Group wins a lottery grant from 'Awards for All' for the Eastern Region
|
|
|
It was a most jubilant surprise for the Treasurer returning from holiday to find in his mail that the group had won a Lottery grant of £2.425 from the Awards for All branch for the Eastern Region. And it was greatly appreciated by all the members.
This was achieved on our second attempt at trying for an award, and we would highly recommend any organisation that need finances to apply and if like us don't give up, help is on hand from Ms Claire Taylor - Crisp at Waveney Forum in Grove Road .
After our Print Competition held on Tuesday 26th July
The Chairman and Treasurer had the pleasure of presenting the new equipment and software to its members which was purchased on the previous Saturday with the Awards for All grant.

It was September 1994 when the Digital Group first started
The group began in a small bedroom converted to a photographic studio where friends met to pool their knowledge of computer digital imaging, learn from each other and improve their skills.
Gradually more friends from the local Photographic Clubs joined them until the group became too large for the room and they had to hire a venue for their meetings, as the group grew we have relied on the generosity of individual members to loan their equipment in one form or other on club nights.
As the group continued to grow it became apparent that we where in need of a Digital Projector and Screen, which was purchased from funds and donations from its members. |

The Broadland Digital Imaging Group aims to promote and encourage amongst its members,
an interest and expertise in photography of all kinds but with a special emphasis on Digital Imaging. No experience is necessary in order to join all that is required is an interest and enthusiasm in creating images and in joining with other enthusiasts in learning new techniques and developing imaginative uses of camera and computer technology.
Members are encouraged to demonstrate new techniques or share problems encountered when trying to enhance those‘difficult' images, the more experienced workers give tutorials on various methods of enhancing images by digital means.

The committee would like to say a big thank you to all that so willingly loaned their equipment. Hopefully with this grant that will now be a thing of the past, with our new high tech laptop computer with loads of accessory's to link up to our Digital Projector and the latest versions of Photoshop CS2, and all the software needed for Audio Visual Sound splicing, Graphic design, etc.
We hope that we can now go out and serve our community in any way possible using the new equipment.
